Lori W. Wyatt, D.V.M.
Practice Owner
Lori
is a native of Kentucky who received her B.S. degree from Western
Kentucky University in 1986 and her DVM from Tuskegee University,
School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She then attended Purdue
University, School of Veterinary Medicine to complete an internship
in small animal medicine and surgery. Lori's career in small animal
practice began in Illinois at two animal hospitals prior to establishing
The Animal Doctor in July of 1996.
Lori has a special interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery,
as well as working on challenging medical cases. She is married
to Karl and they have a daughter named Karla. Her pet collection
can be found living at The Animal Doctor. Other interests include
bible study, singing in the church choir, gourmet cooking, weight-training,
and kicking back with her family.

Tammy
Garr. D.V.M.
Veterinarian
Tammy
Garr has been practicing veterinary medicine at The Animal Doctor
since August 2000. She grew up in Rockford, Illinois, and received
her Bachelors in animal science in 1996 and her veterinary degree
from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in
2000.
Her
primary focus is canine and feline medicine but Tammy also sees
some exotic animal patients.
She currently resides in Crystal Lake where she shares her home
with her cat, Mattie. She enjoys live music, travel, reading, and
spending time with friends and family in Chicago and Rockford.

Shannon
Long, D.V.M.
Veterinarian
Shannon
Long started working as an associate at the Animal Doctor in 2001,
after graduating from veterinary school at the University of Illinois.
She also completed her B.S. in Zoology at Miami University in Ohio.
Her interest in veterinary medicine began with the dogs her family
had when she was growing up, but in practice she also enjoys working
with exotics, including birds and reptiles.
Shannon
has 2 cats at home, named Celery and Asparagus (from the musical
"Cats"). She enjoys biking, roller blading, reading, traveling,
and spending time with her family, friends and fiancé Jeff.
Besides
working with animals and their human families, Shannon enjoys the
challenges of veterinary medicine. Combining medicine, surgery,
dentistry, dermatology, and other specialties, Shannon works to
find a solution for whatever comes through the door!

Lisa Wilhelm, D.V.M.
Veterinarian
Dr.
Lisa Wilhelm began her veterinary career in Wisconsin after earning
her DVM degree from Iowa State University in 2002. She joined The
Animal Doctor team in November 2005.
Lisa and her husband are the proud parents of four spoiled cats:
Tweety Bird, Puddy, Sergio, and Uncle Terry. While in veterinary
school, she had a hedgehog and six mathematically talented dwarf
hamsters (they were great at multiplication). She enjoys gardening,
baking, reading, building scratching posts, and listening to music.
Her favorite activity is relaxing with her husband and their clowder
(definition: a group of cats collected in the same place, e.g.,
household).
Lisa's professional interests include feline medicine and behavior,
pain management, and dentistry. She also enjoys soft tissue surgery.
She is excited to be a part of this team of compassionate animal
medical professionals.

Denise
Office Manager
Denise
has been with the Animal Doctor since its opening in July of 1996,
at which time she worked as a veterinary technician before acquiring
the position of office manager. Her various responsibilities include
payroll, accounting, credit/collections, and managing the overall
operation of the office. Her past experience includes working as
a bank supervisor, accounting and credit assistant and real estate
assistant. She has attended a variety of business management classes.
Denise
and her family have owned everything from dogs to snakes and currently
share their home with four Bengal cats (three Leopard and one snow
Leopard) named Timber, Jade, Aspen, and Rio. Her interests and passions
have always been animals, wildlife, and conservation. She and her
husband Marty have been married since 1982 and have two sons, Marty
and Zach. They enjoy all outdoor activities and being together as
a family.
Denise
enjoys working at the Animal Doctor because she finds caring for
animals to be very rewarding and also allows her the opportunity
to incorporate her business background. She appreciates the challenging
and always varied environment at the Animal Doctor and feels so
fortunate to be able to "look forward" to coming to work
everyday.

Amy
Technician
Amy
has worked at The Animal Doctor since its opening in July of 1996.
Previously, she worked at an animal shelter for five years. As a
technician her responsibilities include assisting the doctors in
surgery, performing various x-rays, running lab work on our in-house
equipment, performing dentals and various other procedures that
ensure each animal entering the hospital receives exceptional care.
Amy
and her husband Neil have been married since September of 2000.
Their daughter, Arielle was born in July of 2003. Amy and her family
enjoy their two dogs Chompers, a shepherd/akita mix, and Xena, a
pit-bull/mastiff mix. In her spare time, Amy loves to relax by scrap
booking, cross-stitching, reading, and being together with her family.
Amy
enjoys interacting with the clients and their animals. "It
is a wonderful feeling to help the sick and injured animals live
a healthier and happier life." She feels very fortunate to
have a job she enjoys so much.

Jennifer
Technician
Jennifer
has worked at The Animal Doctor since the clinic opened in July
of 1996. Previously, she worked at another animal hospital for two
years. Her main responsibilities at The Animal Doctor include assisting
the doctors with appointments and surgeries, running lab work, and
performing x-rays and dentals.
Jennifer
and her husband Vince were married in 1993 and have a daughter named
Jordyn, who was born in 1995. Her family owns a cat named Brewster
and a pit-bull/mastiff mix named Sage.
Jennifer's favorite part of her job includes seeing the variety
of animals, watching the puppies and kittens grow, and helping the
sick and injured animals go home healthy.

Cathy
Technician
Cathy
graduated with her associates in applied science and became a certified
technician in 2004 after attending Parkland College Veterinary Technology
School. She completed a six-week internship in the summer of 2003
at The Animal Doctor and has been employed there since August of
2004. Cathy previously worked at another animal hospital for four
years before attending college. Her responsibilities at The Animal
Doctor include assisting the doctors with appointments and surgeries,
performing x-rays and dental cleanings, and running lab work.
Cathy
came from a family a five. She has two dogs, an english springer
spaniel named Trixie and a miniature schnauzer named Emma. She also
has one cat named Lucy and a box turtle named Tulip. In her spare
time, she loves going camping, and shopping, watching movies, relaxing
with her pets and going out with her brother Charlie, sister Chrissie,
and friends.
Her
favorite part of her job is seeing all the puppies and kittens,
helping the doctors with sick or injured animals, and working with
everyone at The Animal Doctor.

Diane
Technician
Diane
has been working in the veterinary field since 1996 and her work
experience includes animal emergency. She started at The Animal
Doctor in November 2006. When not working she can be found volunteering
at a sanctuary caring for lions, tigers, and bears… OH MY!
Diane has seven cats of her own that were all rescued from various
situations.

Sandy
Receptionist
Sandy
started at The Animal Doctor in the summer of 1998. Prior to that,
she worked for three years at another animal hospital. She assists
the clients and pets from the time they enter the clinic until the
time they go home. Some of her responsibilities include running
the blood work on the in-house lab equipment, performing X-rays,
assisting with surgeries, and assisting with various other procedures
to provide superb healthcare to each animal.
Sandy
and her family own two ragdoll cats, "Mirage" and "Noel." Their
two dogs are "Boris," a Golden Retriever, and "Tetsu," a Shar-Pei.
They also own "Simmie," a Quaker Parrot, and "Blue," a Parakeet.
Outside of work, Sandy is very involved with her children's extra-curricular
activities. She likes to spend quiet time at home with her family.
She also enjoys going to concerts and on vacation, having a special
interest in the sawtooth wolves of Idaho. Sandy has been married
to her husband Mark for 20 years, and has two children: Mark, 19
years old, and Brian, 15 years old.
Sandy
likes helping with challenging cases and being able to see the outcome
of each case. She also enjoys knowing that the animals are getting
the proper care when they are sick.

Lisa
E.
Receptionist
Lisa
has worked at The Animal Doctor since August of 1997. She has a
B.S. degree in education from Drake University. Her primary responsibility
is assuring the overall efficiency of the front desk operation.
She also assists the doctors and technicians with animal healthcare.
Lisa
and her family own a Gordon setter named Stormy (who is a "very
handsome fella"). Her husband, Brad and children Alex, Kaden,
and Devin enjoy most sports including swimming, boating, skiing,
and skating. They also like traveling, shopping, going out to dinner,
cooking, and just hanging out together.

Receptionist
Lisa
has worked as a receptionist at The Animal Doctor since June of
2003 where she performs a variety of duties. She enjoys seeing the
different types of animals that come through the door each day!
She
and her husband Dave have two dogs of their own; Reiley, a corgi,
and Annabelle, who is a lab mix. Lisa feels The Animal Doctor "is
a great place to work!"

Tracy
Receptionist
Tracy
started working for The Animal Doctor in August of 1999. Her primary
responsibility is that of operating the front desk, which requires
efficiently handling the
influx of phone calls, the scheduling of appointments, and all aspects
of customer service.
Tracy graduated from Marshall University in 1990 and holds a degree
in Communications. She has been married to her husband Pete since
1996, and together they have two children, Kole and Cherolyn, and
a golden retriever named Marley.
Tracy
enjoys working at The Animal Doctor because she loves animals and
believes people who own animals are usually very happy and friendly.
She finds that people with these qualities are the best people to
be around.

Glenda
Receptionist
Glenda
joined The Animal Doctor in December of 2003 as a receptionist.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Glenda and her husband Michael
have been married since 2002. Together they have six children and
four grandchildren.
Glenda
enjoys barbecues, movies, doing projects with the children, babysitting,
and writing poetry. As a member of Trinity Baptist Community Church
she is involved with the Hospitality Committee, the Sign Ministry,
and Women's Fellowship.
Here
at The Animal Doctor her objective is to gain as much knowledge
as possible to make your visit as pleasant and informative as possible.
She believes "your pets are your children and we will treat
them as such."

Rose
Receptionist
Rose
began working at The Animal Doctor in January 2004 as a part time
receptionist. Rose has another part time job teaching preschool
in the Cary area. "I love children and animals so both of my
jobs are great."
Rose's
interests include gardening, reading, hiking, and prayer ministry.
She also keeps busy by spending time with her family, which includes
her husband Ron, two children, Marc and Nicole, and their dog Mandy.

Marianne
Receptionist
Marianne
started at The Animal Doctor in October 2006. She has been an animal
lover for years so working in an environment like this is truly
enjoyable. Marianne resides on the Fox River of Cary with her husband
Harry, and their two golden retrievers, Callie and Dakota. They
enjoy life on the Fox by boating and jet skiing, along with weekend
getaways to do some biking and shopping, or just relaxing. She also
loves spending time with her daughters, Heather and Holly, and good
times with friends!

Erin
has worked at The Animal Doctor since July of 1999. She graduated
from Cary-Grove High School in 2001 and is now a full time college
student. Erin returns to work on her breaks from Iowa State University
where her major is veterinary medicine. Her main responsibilities
at The Animal Doctor include assisting doctors, taking x-rays, helping
clients into rooms and kennel duties.
Erin
and her family own a cat named Spot, four guinea pigs and a border
collie mixed named Bella. Aside from working part time she enjoys
playing tennis, shopping, swimming, boating, and water skiing. She
also loves to hang out with friends and spend time with family.
Erin's
favorite parts of her job include assisting the doctors with sick
or injured animals, and seeing them go home healthy after their
care. She enjoys watching, learning and gaining new experiences.

Debbie
Assistant
Debbie
joined The Animal Doctor staff in February of 2007. She is married
to Dennis and they have two sons, Tony and Mike. They also have
two dogs, Snoopy the Beagle, and Buddy the Jack Russell Terrier.
Debbie completed a Veterinarian Assistant class and has received
a certificate to be a Veterinarian Assistant. Prior to working at
The Animal Doctor she did home childcare for 25 years.
She loves animals and now that her kids are grown she decided to
make a change and do something different. In her spare time she
enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, going
out with friends, camping, riding snowmobiles and riding her motorcycle.

Mike
Assistant
Mike
has been at The Animal Doctor since December of 2003 and works as
a kennel assistant. Mike is attending Cary-Grove High School and
hopes to open his own business after he graduates. His favorite
hobby is riding his bike, as well as building them. Mike loves to
work at The Animal Doctor because he loves animals.
